What data do we collect?

UniversalNotes collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number, etc.)
  • Notes you add to pages

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide UniversalNotes with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register or login to the extension.
  • When you add a note or like or dislike a note.

How will we use your data?

UniversalNotes collects your data so that we can:

  • Log you into the extension with Google
  • Allow you to add, read, and vote on notes.

How do we store your data?

  • UniversalNotes securely stores your data on servers located in the United States provided by AWS, Heroku, MongoDB and other cloud providers. Your data may be cached in a secure global CDN (Content Delivery Network) for faster access.
  • UniversalNotes will keep your data for as long as you have an account with us. Once you delete your account, we will delete your data within 10 days.
  • UniversalNotes will also keep your data if we are legally required to do so.

What are your data protection rights?

UniversalNotes wants to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request that UniversalNotes provide copies of your personal data.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that UniversalNotes correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request UniversalNotes to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that UniversalNotes erase your personal data.
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that UniversalNotes restrict the processing of your personal data.
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to UniversalNotes’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that UniversalNotes transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
